It was indeed the most moving half hour of tv I have ever seen. We all love you Hitch and we all hope you get better.

I'm afraid BBC iPlayer is definitely a UK-only application.

The link says "not available in your area." What's with this. You Brits still got your knickers in a wad about Yorktown?:)

Any way to get it in the states?

iPlayer is available through a proxy or alternate upload.

There are plans to make it available internationally via subscription from 2011.

I don't know whether iPlayer is barred outside Britain, but I really really hope everyone here can see it. I think it is one of the most moving half hours of television I have ever seen.

Don't worry Prof, us atheist pirates have it covered. Should be able to add it to the torrent feed in a day or two. Wish we had more seeders though.

Note to self. Do not use the word " mellowing " to Christopher Hitchens.

Sweet, what did you use and what's the quality like? It sounds like you have a super fast connection, maybe you could seed a torrent for us?

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DpUeKwleyw

I just use the free JDownloader app. If I put a YouTube URL on the clipboard, it intercepts it, and offers me a choice of FLV, mp3, and mp4 downloads. Since these pair of videos only runs to 80MB in good quality, it's a very fast download almost anywhere you have ADSL or similar.

Will try it out. I'm using a browser plugin but my download will take about 3 hours, if it doesn't time out LOL.

Are you sure this is the whole thing and not the shorter version broadcast on Friday?

It was a very good interview, moving in parts too. The sign of a good interviewer is knowing when not to speak, Paxman was excellent.

The only downside was that the announcer stated Peter Hitchens - idiot.

That was very good. Very touching. Damn, I wish I believed in miracles, and I wish Hitch could get one. But when he goes I'll raise a large glass of Johnnie Walker Black. And I don't even drink blended scotch - I might have to wash the taste out of my mouth with a Laphroaig, but I think Hitch would forgive me.

Thanks for the YouTube link.

Poignant interview. I haven't seen Paxman in that role before. He is usually ripping politicians' throats out. But then his questions were targeted enough to get a very interesting interview.

After seeing that on YouTube, I saw this in the side bar:-Ann Coulter on UK BBC Newsnight interview with Jeremy Paxman

Absolutely i second that! I have only read God is Not Great by Christopher but it is one of the most eye opening books i have ever read. Not just about religion but has also introduced me to a world of literature and philosophy which i have him to thank for.

Nice interview, although Paxo seemed strangely keen to push Pascal's Wager, for some reason. He surely could have challenged Hitch with a less risible argument for faith?

Plus, the trappings made it look like Hitchens is in the middle of moving in.
