Does Perry's campaign ad use Richard Dawkins' distinctive "A"? Inquiring atheists want to know.

Is Rick Perry an atheist theocrat??

Back in 2007, evolutionary biologist and best-selling author Richard Dawkins unveiled The Out Campaign, a supportive outreach program for atheists who are "closeted" and nervous about being open about who they are due to fears of judgment from co-workers, friends and family.   To help publicize the fact that there are millions of non-believers throughout the world, atheists display a distinctive "A" on their websites, on t-shirts, on brochures and so forth.  The "A"  that was specifically designed for the campaign looks like this:

The Out Campaign: Scarlet Letter of Atheism

The "fancy" version looks like this:

It wasn't long before Dawkins' "A" — apparently created with the Zapfino font — became synonymous with atheism.

The ever-vigilant atheists at Reddit were quick to notice that the same "A" (less its scarlet color) appeared in one of Rick Perry's political ads. It's a coincidence that has atheists talking.

"The guy who edited the video probably had a little fun," joked one commentator. Another Reddit user wrote, "wtf….i'm kind of offended." A commentator with the handle Zoolotalk wryly added, "The republican party has had quite a few gay homophobes… why not an atheist theocrat?"
