Refute This, Hoax Lovers: More Proof Men Totally Walked on the Moon - Comments

Neodarwinian's Avatar Comment 1 by Neodarwinian

Hoax lovers will naturally say there is a conspiracy afoot! Those photos are also fake!

These people need the conspiracy as they need oxygen as the final electron acceptor!

Wally SirFatty Right.. well, I see some squiggly lines drawn on the picture using MS Paint. That is irrefutable!

Unless parody this first comment on the article is priceless evidence for my point. As parody it still would make the point.

I suppose this raises the question of just how conspiracy theories can ever be put to rest. When you have a group of people whose lives are so impoverished that they are desperate to believe in UFOs and secret government studios where the moon landings were filmed, nothing will convince them that the real world is far more interesting than their fantasy world.

The more effort we make to debunk their silly "theories" the more their adherents seem convinced that there is something to hide. These images are certainly fascinating, especially for someone who followed all the moon landings of the sixties with the devotion of a science-besotted teenager!

Didn't Popular Mechanix completely debunk just about all of the usual hoax theories back about 1970? Some people just won't allow themselves to see reality.

These people wouldn't believe it unless they where actually landed on the Moon themselves. Another reason to go to the Moon, Take them there and leave them on their very own Luna colony. If they don't believe they can just open the door....

This August 2011 video is yet another nail in the coffin of the "we didn't go" idea, as if our bouncing lasers off a mirror we left there wasn't good enough. Also, for a funny refutation of the nonsense, go here. I wonder if this particular brand of ignoramus will come bother us here the way deniers of evolution or ACC do.

The hoax conspiracy has exactly the same stench as those that insist jeebus was a de-facto zombie. Which if their claims are taken to the ultimate conclusion the dude undoubtedly was.

The same refusal to accept factual explanations and the same desire to plead intolerance to their 'ideas' is apparent as it is with the same dumbfuck ignorance and lack of integrity which are also a mirrored trait with religious gobbly gook.

I actually like using that ridiculous FOX show "Did we land on the moon?" to teach critical thinking in science class.

Unfortunately the digital photography age is making students less able to recognize the flaws in the arguments the conspiracy theorists make. Having done a reasonable amount of photography with film, reprinting negatives, etc. it was easy to explain the photographic artifacts and other claims the show makes. However even though most students have taken more photos than I had by their age, using cellphones, etc., they miss out on the nuances of exposure, etc.

Sorry, Moon hoax conspiracy theorists, but NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter keeps shooting holes in your arguments.

Using the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter to confirm a NASA mission to land men on the moon is a classic circular argument. The Truth is Out There.

We now return you to "Capricorn One" already in progress...

"Refute this" is far too easy a challenge. hoax theorists' arguments are and always have been as lame as evolution deniers and as such are not worth enterntaining. besides, my argument againt any UFO sporrters evidence is "that's a picture, so what? you see those dinosaurs on tv last night?"

however it's very cool that the orbiter has picked up these pictures

Of course, this is all nonsense: The NWO is building a moon base for when the earth becomes uninhabitable. Newt Gingrich was just trying to throw people off the scent (just as he's acting as a spoiler for Santorum now). These pictures are photoshopped using an undetectable NSA version of photoshop, written by Chinese engineers held in Guantanamo bay, the same team that designed Mitt Rmoney. At midnight on 21-12-2012 they will hold a ceremony on the lunar base to summon Carl Sagan and detonate nuclear weapons bought from the UN at all the offices of Amnesty International.

If you were a sceptic of the moon landings, this picture would most definitely not be evidence that would refute them. If anything, it would only make them more suspicious in an age of advanced computer manipulation of images.

Conspiracy theorists do have a mindset of true belief rather than scepticism, but everyone is a at some level sceptic, no person can possibly know anything about the world with absolute certainty.

I never questioned the moon landings until a physicist friend of mine made me do so. I don't readily believe anything ... and I think Christianity/all religion is the biggest hoax of all. I don't understand the difference between believing in the myths of man-made religion and believing in the myths of man-made military accomplishments or "factual accounts" of terrorists attacks. If there is something to be gained for the rich or powerful via a "factual account, with 'evidence'," I am naturally skeptical.

What's the point of this, conspiracy mindset deconstructs any evidence into deeper conspiracy.

It's was never about evidence but about psychological issues when one has to feel special.

As Brian Cox said when a conspiracy theorist phoned in his astronomy programme to ask a "Moon conspiracy question" to Gene Cernan, " Switch channels and go and watch Big Brother".
