Abdul from Scotland was merely repeating the well-worn fiction that Hitler was an atheist. (Sigh.) I think the real miracle is that Richard manages to remain urbane in the face of all this seething stupidity.
Never forget that with people like Abdul, the Koran (Bible/Torah/Narnia Chronicles) occupies a special class of its own, and so cannot be held to the same standards of accountability as any other text. Breaking this illogical thinking (what Dan Dennett called the "spell") is the real challenge.
