Strong hair dye can smart a bit.
Plus if you have have some ginger tones in with the brown hair (hard to tell from your picture, but these tend to lurk) you can unexpectedly find yourself a charming shade of flaming orange.
N.B. don't think leaving the dye on for longer will help. You will go bald before you go blond. Hair follicles die before ginger tones are eliminated.
Do a 'strand test' first (a small snippet of hair in a bowl of dye) timed to see how things go.
*Cough* Not that I bother with such vanities myself...
