Science is not being denied anything. The real problem is that you, and others, think that it is the business of the Federal Government to provide funding. It is not!
There are plenty of other sources who can profit(horrible, dirty word!) from financing such an enterprise. Perhaps they should be the ones to put forth the money instead of gaining from government financed research as you seem to suggest is proper.
There is no restriction on doing stem cell research based on the government's refusal to finance it. Find someone else to pay for it and let them realize a return on their money.
