You don't have to be genius to look at the world around you. In Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal and, yes, even Italy, the Catholics are deserting in droves.
In South America too, the pope has a problem, because they are reverting to the indigenous religions.
Intellectuals or not, the Catholics are speaking with their feet, not their knees.
