As a young boy I thought people like Senators, Representatives and other elected officials were somehow "automatically" intelligent. They "had" to be the best of the best. Now as an adult approaching 60 I realize that even college students are often brighter and better (much better) educated than our elected officials. It doesn't say much for those that are doing the electing...
Have you seen "Religulous"? There's a scene where a US senator admits to Bill Maher that "You don't need to pass an IQ test to get elected to the US Senate".
