It's a conflict of interest to have boards dominated by people who DO send their kids to public schools. Should we blow a million dollars of tax money of a new football field? Of course!
And what of all the communities where Jews are the powerless minority who send their kids to private schools, while a non-Jew-dominated school board forces them to pay into a public school system they do not use? Does the author offer the same level of concern?
USING a free public school is not what gives you the right to take part in its administration, PAYING for it does.
