There's still this misconception (in the comments at the article's site too) that those eight and ten year old children have made a free choice for their religion after consideration and rational evaluation. They have not, and they could not have. In every other area society recognizes that children can not use their ratio to its full capacity until they are at least fifteen. Only when it's about religion, it suddenly becomes intolerance and secular rationalist indoctrination when schools desire to form an atmosphere as open to development of reason as it can be - meaning without religious symbolism brought in from anyone.
