Just because Dawkins has a belief about historical progress doesn't mean that he has any sort of faith in the idea. Not the way religious people have faith in god.

I've noticed that critics of atheism often try to push the bounds of faith to include nearly any belief. Quite a lame argument for people who believe that they've found ultimate truth.
