What "is simply not true"? What do you mean by 'Religion' and 'Secularism'? You cannot, by definition, bridge the two (From Wikipedia "Secularism is the assertion that governmental practices or institutions should exist separately from religion and/or religious beliefs.").
You can be religious and you can act as a functionary in a secular institution, but you cannot mix the two - One of them has to go.
