← AC Grayling: Derren Brown's Lotto stunt was a trick too far

I can’t say I’m too keen on Derren Brown’s tactics. He lowers the claim from “Supernatural” to “Psychology”. This seems harmless enough on the surface in that he doesn’t get anyone believing in the supernatural like faith healers for instance. However where people used to disregard supernatural claims because they can see magicians doing the same things, now I think people might start dismissing psychology for the same reasons. Or worse, believing things like NLP.

I think it comes down to the fact I don’t like being lied to. Penn and Teller will do a trick and TELL you it’s a trick. That is nice and honest.
