I'm with Hungarian Elephant on this...
Derren's books such as "Pure effect" and "Trick of the Mind" actually state that if the trick looks like he did X and Derren's explanation is Y what he actually did was Z, the technique he keeps to himself.
I long suspected this from such explanations as the one he gave for his Advertising Agency trick... how could he guarantee all of his visual cues would be both noticed and plagurised simply by posting them around the taxi route the ad men took?
