The last Christian I spoke with unleashed upon me, "Evolution is only a theory." And so I had to engage in this theory-fact clarification.
The problem doesn't only stem from the benighted masses, but also with theists who know the correct terminology but deliberately confuse others in order to undermine scientific knowledge. In a word, obscurantism.
