I really don't see a point in picking on Shermer so much. I enjoy his talks probably less so than Dawkins or Harris or Hitchens, but I think his goals are a bit different. If you read his columns, he is a rationalist and nonbeliever like any of us, but his gripes are usually with things like poverty and bad science rather than religion.
It's like attacking James Randi for not being anti-religious enough. It's just not his main thing.
