A little more pedantry on the "spelt" thing: that usage is a past participle e.g. he spelled the words, and the words were spelt. It's like the difference between did and done - the latter is passive. In this case the previous commenter was referring to the words as they are on the page (passive voice), not the actions of their author, so spelt is fine.
