Well, would you submit that they were cowardly?In any case, that is beside the point. The thing is, even the most evil scum of the planet can possess traits that we would, in general, consider admirable. These can be devotion to one's children, it can be courage, it can be willpower, whatever.
The issue here, as I see it, is that the bishop considered the trait of conviction in blind faith, a violent one at that, to be admirable.
