Clearmind, are you aware that complex objects are NOT the result of chance? Evolutionists do not believe in complex objects coming about by chance alone and certainly not instantly as you seem to think. I think this is one of the reasons why you're struggling to believe it. Please read a proper book on the subject and it will make much more sense.

There are occasionally errors in the copying process of self replication (reproduction, I assume you believe reproduction happens)and these errors introduce variation. Natural selection happens when those variations, no matter how tiny, cause some living things to survive and reproduce better than others. But I mean REALLY tiny, not like an extra inch of a tail or ability to climb at twice the speed. (Too slow for us humans to notice in real time unless we're experimenting with insects with short life spans)
