I haven't noticed much discussion on the possibility that Pat Robertson doesn't for a moment actually believe a word of what he says.
I think he is probably a cynical, heartless liar and ruthless con man who realised many years ago that it's possible to make a good living by exploiting the ignorance and stupidity of a certain category of unfortunate people.
If there was any way of verifying my strong suspicion, I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money on it.
