You have to realize that the UK government will only prosecute international criminals if they are poor or without influence. Those who can make them rich after their parliamentary careers have to remain immune.
I justified to friends my lifetime voting for Labour on the grounds that the Tories would never have kept Pinochet in the UK pending prosecution. Our Foreign Secretary let him go, for who knows what corrupt reason. I'll never make the mistake of voting Labour again.
