This is great - many thanks to A C Grayling for writing this; I agree with everything he says, particularly on the subject of the fleasome Brown and the ignorant Rifkind.

The one proviso I would add is what I've said before; the judge's reference to religious may be shorthand for mitigation offered by the defence associated with his religious life, which may be nothing specifically religious; for example, organising tombolas and the like. Of course, this would still leave her open to the charge of imprecision when sentencing.
