Russell's answers in Part 2 are spot on. Not only do I not want atheists to take a totalitarian point of view toward eradicating religion, but in fact I would mobilize against such efforts. Freedom of and freedom from religion go hand in hand. As much as I have set it as my task to help free the world from religion, it is also my task to defend the rights of the believers to express their religion, although of course within the bounds of a democratic, secular, Enlightenment-based society. (I'm currently auditing a class called "Religion and Human Rights," so this type of thing has begun to crystallize in my brain recently).
