The control of fire and the beneficial by-product of it warding of predators also gave us the ability to freely think. The ability to communicate in a non hostile environment would have also lead to our cleverness. And at some point through pure luck, accident or just plain old observance, humans learned how to cook their food. And because of all that happening I now have an iphone, thank you my clever ancestors.
