I have no salary. My girlfriend of nine years does (as a cook). We both have a BMI of 18. My observations throughout my area (Western Massachusetts) haven't found many conflicting partnerships. In fact, if anything, I find more thin women (usually artsy) with thin geeky men than fat women.
I find the fat women with the fat men, and that the fat men tend to prefer fat women anyway.
I'd say that it appears to me that we seek out body types similar to our own (or similar to our ideal self if we were of our preferred sex), much like we seek those who think similarly.
