I don't know why everyone is acting as though this is the most stupid idea ever. I think there may well be some truth in this.
It's quite possible that seemingly superficial traits may indicate innate differences in behaviour, as demonstrated by the Russian silver fox study. And just because the difference is slight doesn't mean it's not there; if you flip a coin 1 billion times and get heads 51 percent of the time, then that really must be the probability of getting a heads.
