The saddest part of all of this ongoing fiasco--after all, these latest horrid revelations are only at the end of a long, long line of similar news--is that the victims, DEAF BOYS, are virtually being forgotten by the institution that allowed for their abuse. When Da Popa deflects the focus of his flock away from the crimes and instead to the "petty gossip" that HE is suffering, it only makes it harder to remember that real, innocent, powerless human children were irrevocably traumatized. This sort of pulpit two-step is as much a part of religious tradition as the crimes instigating it this time. What an insult to the children.
