Absolution -- The condition of being formally forgiven by a priest in the sacrament of penance. Then I remembered the Utube video of the good Reverend Phelps of Kansas, showing his compassion and soulful absolution for, at the death of the Reverend Jerry Falwell.

In case any of you missed the video, you can watch it and decide whether or not the above paragraph is satire:

Of course, if there were enough such sickening compassionate absolution examples in Western Christianity, the religious wars could return and blood would once again flow in the streets; who said the past can't be the future once again.

How does the old saying go -- "Beware what you wish for"?
