Richard's article on the Great Ape Project (Gaps in the Mind) is one of my favourite works of his. He takes a concept which postmodern philosophers approach from various sides with endless wibble -- the arbitrariness of our cultural categories of thought, in this case about species -- and cuts right to it with a vivid image that makes the point utterly clear.
