I applaud the moment, but wish it never came. This is an "if we can't beat them, join them" victory, which is not a victory at all.
I know it's not about winners and losers, victors and the defeated. But we shouldn't bargain to have our message given priority over the constitution just because the religious do it. We should fight just as strongly against those that would use government offices to endorse atheism as we do those that promote Christianity or Islam or Judaism.
So I thank Joe Alaimo for his probably tireless efforts, but hope that he stops. What's more, I would like to see him admit to the people that his actions were wrong, and why they were wrong.
