Absolutely, and with continued scientific progress it will only improve. There may come a time when destroyed brain tissue can be replaced using stem cells, or even artificial neural networks.
I don't think you need worry. If there was ever a zombie apocalypse I think you could be confident that medical services would quickly decline to the level where you your weapons would be effective.
