True, but one does have the suspicion the major motivation was to wrest an anti-theist government from power and insert the church's influence rather than some nice fluffy altruistic reasons.
Still, he has managed to cure Parkinson's, even if he couldn't work the magic on himself. I'll call it a one-all-draw on that one.
