Richard Feynman said, "If you think you understand quantum theory, you don't understand quantum theory." It takes scientists many years to grasp the concept of quantum physics, it can't be done with a few courses. You can get a general idea, but nothing complete. I find you need to have a good imagination to visualize this bizarre world; if a little inaccurate when trying to picture the orbital shells of an atom and the quantum jumps of the electrons. I don't think string theory is widely accepted; yet - there aren't any experimental results to prove strings are there; so it should be an hypothesis for now.
