the simple fact that men over exaggerate and women under report is enough to skew things to the point where statistically speaking this all becomes opinion.
you also make an assumption about pictures and other "assists"... I do not know your assertion to be true and especially since there is an agreed upon and obvious wrench in the reporting stats.
As for your last paragraph -- i have no idea.
