I noticed after the Boxing Day tsunami that here in Australia, except for the nuttier ones, the religious leadership ignored the question of why God caused the disaster and focused on the great charitable response as some kind of evidence God's Love.
I expect that deep down they know the Problem of Evil destroys the God they try to sell to the gullible.
