I forgot, and thank something I need to go to work and stop writing, My younger brother and cousin who lived with us never joined scouts nor for all the reasons mentioned did any children. The kids were in to education, museums etc. and the one with developmental disabilities liked a church group until one of his friends got busted for being drunk at a teen ager group to do. Parents stepped in but the kids seem to loose interest, so I don't know what really went on. Twenty-five years later he is not religious and is perfectly clear on why the Republicans are hurting him, although he still gets left wing confused with right wing when we discuss politcs, but who doesn't in American Presidental politics.
