Attack of the Theocrats!
Paxo did a little piece describing religious myths as so much better than scientific truths, with which Richard ardently disagreed, and quite right too. Surely the truth is stranger than fiction? Myths can be enjoyable, often are, but they only really resonate when they tell us something true about life. Most often with ancient myths, the truths are just truths about the human condition; certainly not about reality apart from that, except accidentally so. Paxo played the myths as comfort card, which Richard acknowledged but said he preferred truth. Paxo called creationists stupid, and Richard agreed! But he wants to prevent children falling pray to such ignorance and stupidity.
