I've come across this before in attempting to donate money to a church bell tower restoration I was told by one of the supercilious and self righteous bastards that my money wasn't welcome as i wasn't an Xtian and I should spend it down the pub. I wonder of the attitude is denominational? Conversely I've come across catholics who'll stoop to anything to get a few quid. I overheard one Catholic school headmaster gleefully say he'd taken money from a masonic fund for re-development at his school.
