Let's raise the damn money anyhow, give it to the ACS despite themselves and make a bigger deal out of giving even when discriminated against. This is about helping cancer victims not about ignorant bigots in the way.
I was told of a story about Mother T who when faced with a million dollar donation turned it down because the wealthy giver didn't suffer from the sacrifice. What Mother T failed to see is the suffering she continued by not accepting it. A lot of children could have smiled for a bit with a million bucks. She thinks we should give until it hurts, I say we give until it doesn't. You don't give to create more pain, you give to stop it. I have no proof the story is true, I respect the teacher who told me. I hope it's not true.
