@10 Maybe the marketers for one of the "Elm Street" sequels appropriated the phrase, but its origin in pop culture--with the distinctive two-syllable pronunciation of "baa-aack"--is the movie "Poltergeist".

I've recently wondered if the basis for the character of the "Spooky Preacher Ghost" in the sequel was based on Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church....
