As the religious in power always have been very condescending, it looks like their greatest beef with RD is that he is not condescending, - he is always engaged, and gives proper, honest, true explanations. And that is something the religious neither understand nor ever have attempted. And it is rather obvious that RD has to be somewhat forceful, because the superstitious ignorance brigade always mass-produce fluff.
