Would like to suggest that Dr Martin Luther King and others made religion a part of the civil rights movement, then Jimmy Carter who was vocal about his Christian beliefs came along, and this in turn led to conservative Christians getting more involved in 1980. So its a mistake to say that its only been the conservative Christians who have created this mess.

Oh and when was the last time you heard ANY media person in print or at any of the debates ask any candidate about the United States Constitution and in Article VI, paragraph 3, which forbids any religious test of ANY kind?

Do these candidates know that its says 'The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but NO religious test shall EVER be required as a qualification to ANY office or public trust under the United States'?
