I donn't see where anyone is suggesting stifling free speech. There's not a single mention of censorship here - until yours. Mr. Goldacre is not trying to prevent Ms. Greenfield from having her say; he is instead exercising his own freedom of speech to criticise her methodology and educate some of the public as to the value of scientific publication for separating woo from objective fact.
We must be careful not to mistake criticisms of other people's speech for call's to ban that speech, as the two could not be more different. The former is a celebration of free speech, the latter is anathema.
