← Tired of arguing with friends and family

First, I would seriously consider getting new friends. I mean, if it's true that ALL your friends wildly disagree with you on nearly every topic that ever comes up WHY on earth are you hanging out with these people? Clearly, you have nothing in common with them. Definitely time to expand your social circle. If you genuinely like these people who so obviously see the world completely differently from you then continuing to associate with them will be easier if you ALSO have the refuge of like minded friends.

Family, you can't do much about. If you feel compelled to continue to spend time with them it's best to stick to topics like little cousin Susie's birthday party and to just let the other stuff go. When they try to bait you (as they likely will) just smile and reply that for the sake of family harmony you no longer have any desire to discuss these topics. Even if you're dying to. Trust me, it's not worth it. On my computer, to this day, there sits a pages long letter to my family discussing and explaining my religious and political beliefs. I have never bothered to print it or e-mail it but it did me good to write it. Now I no longer have the desire to argue with them because, in a sense, I've already said everything I have to say. So now I just smile and let them draw their own conclusions.
