Attack of the Theocrats!
There is a moral principle which says "It is morally wrong to inflict suffering on animals unless it is necessary, and pleasure cannot suffice to demonstrate necessity." (http://www.abolitionistapproach.com/).
If you agree with this statement, you can't maintain that it is justifiable to eat animal products.
Factory farms and slaughterhouses cause billions of animals to suffer terribly every year. A battery of tortures such as castrations, branding, dehorning and debeaking are done to animals systematically, routinely and without anesthetics. The slaughtering process is horrific beyond description. No moral principle justify contributing to this torture.
There is absolutely no evidence that animal products are required for good health and, a quick investigation into the subject will reveal that vegetarians live longer than meat eaters and suffer fewer diseases.
Please consider going vegan. It's easy to do, it's healthier than a carnist diets and it will help to end the tremendous suffering that occurs to animal on factory farms.
