I don't know what it's like in the UK, but in the US Girl Scouts are very inclusive. Our promise includes the line "to serve God and my country", but it's explicitly stated that you are allowed to replace the word "God" with what is appropriate to your belief. Atheists can say whatever they want; I think "life" is a nice alternative.
The Mormons have too much control over the Boy Scouts in America. The Girl Scouts would NEVER kick a girl out because of her sexual orientation.
