Abandon them. They're wrong. It's called 'Common Law', and it's the body of record that shows what we, as a species, have learned from our experience and have agreed is fair, and important. If your 'beliefs' come into conflict with reality (C.L.) then you are wrong, and are just pushing your own version of political correctness (read: lobbying to the public).
