Agree with the above poster on the irony that this guy was there for a religious pilgrimage in the first place. Also, assuming they don't have some sort of lashing machine and this is all done by hand 1 lash at a time, at 5 seconds per lash, this amounts to roughly 40 minutes of torture.(also assuming he survives all 500). I'm not sure what was said, but it hardly would seem to warrant 40 minute of hell or more likely death.
Also, can someone explain to me who "Mohammed's companions" are? I was unaware they could be insulted, but might have to consider adding them to my list. How about we start an everyone draw Mo's companions day? Jesus and Mo (and companions)? Now that would be a good comic.
