I wonder if they did a trial on people who use the Internet regularly for their work. Surely this would be a good control group. If you force someone to smoke a pack of cigarettes every day I'm sure addiction would be the result for a large percentage. So are peoples whose job involves large use of Internet, (bloggers, people who manage forums wikipedia etc) it seems here that what they are spending their time on would be showing evidence of addiction if the internet was in and of itself addictive.
Are they worried about people spending their time on wikipedia, on-line university courses, You tube or porn. Seems very poorly defined.
