There is a similar woeful tale in the UK. Here we have (the last time I looked) around 35 qualifications some of which are A levels dedicated to religious study in some form or other. That's right 35 ways to to get qualified about nothing!
There are NO qualifications on evolution but some units dedicated to: ( I kid you not)
Carrying out evolutionary operations EVOP (bizarrely safety at work) Evolution of the record industry Evolutionary operations in food industry Evolution of sports development Evolution of the fashion retail market Understanding the evolution of beauty retailing Understanding the evolution of fashion retailing
Of 109 qualifications on Science (I use the word science advisedly) I have not found a single mention of evolution or genetics or heredity.
